Offertory
Your participation in the offertory is just as important as gifts of bread and wine. Given as an intentional percentage of the financial resources entrusted to you by God, your offering represents the fullness of your gratitude to Him for unmatched generosity. Please contact the parish office if you are not receiving our offertory envelopes. If you wish to make a recurring online gift, you may do so by choosing the “Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament” through this secure link Your Parish Offertory.
Catholic Ministries Drive
As a parish united with 86 other faith communities of the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown, we support ministries that none of the individual communities could sponsor on our own through this annual charitable giving campaign. You may make your annual gift through the offertory basket or you may make your gift through this secure online Catholic Ministries Drive Contribution Page.
Bequests
Many may not have the means to make a substantial contribution during one’s life but may be able to do so through a charitable gift in a last will or estate plan. Such legacy gifts are perhaps ultimate acts of financial stewardship. You may wish to remember the Cathedral parish with a specific dollar amount or the remainder once your estate has made distributions to loved ones. Please consult an attorney to ensure that your wishes are documented correctly.
Specific Amount Example
“With gratitude for all that God has given me, I give, devise, and bequeath to the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, Pennsylvania, (the sum of $__________ or description of specific property).”
Residuary Example
“With gratitude for all that God has given me, I give, devise, and bequeath to the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, Pennsylvania, 10% of the remainder of my estate after all debts, taxes, expenses and family bequests have been paid.”
Parish Endowments
The Cathedral Parish is blessed to receive support from two permanent endowments managed by our partner, the Independent Catholic Foundation, Altoona. The Foundation carefully invests endowment assets according to the ethical, social, and moral teachings of the Catholic Church.
The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Parish Endowment was established in 1997 to support the administrative, educational and charitable needs of the Parish.
The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Music Ministry Endowment was established in 1995 to support the general needs of the parish’s music ministry.
Contributions of any amount may be made to either endowment fund in honor or memory of loved ones – or in lieu of flowers. Checks may be sent to the Parish indicating for deposit into the specific endowment. One-time or recurring gifts into an endowment may also be given through this secure online Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Parish Endowment Fund.
You may wish to direct that a charitable gift in your last will or estate plan be designated to one or more endowment funds. This causes a portion of your legacy gift to support the Parish every year forever. If your legacy gift is $10,000 or more, you have the option of establishing your own named endowment fund through the Independent Catholic Foundation. Please follow this link to contact the Independent Catholic Foundation.
Thank you being a faithful steward of your God-given resources!
